Plans and billing
How agent seats are counted, what changes when you upgrade or downgrade mid-cycle, and how the lifetime plan differs from a subscription.
Updated August 7, 2026
Billing is per active agent, per month, across four plans. The pricing page has the current numbers and the full feature comparison; this page covers the mechanics that are easier to explain in prose.
Agent seats
You are billed for active agents. Add or remove them from your account settings whenever you like:
- Monthly plans pro-rate the change.
- Yearly plans adjust at renewal.
An agent who is offline still occupies a seat. If someone has left, remove them rather than just switching them offline — that is also the right thing to do for access control.
What each plan unlocks
The two thresholds worth knowing:
- Professional is where the AI chatbot starts, along with unlimited chat history, full customisation and branding removal.
- Business is where the fuller help desk system, the scheduler and the Apple iMessage channel start.
Everything else scales with the tier: tracked visitors, AI credits and the number of AI agents.
AI credits
AI usage is metered in credits, allocated per plan per month. If you consistently run out before month end, that is the signal to move up a tier rather than to restrict the bot — a bot that stops answering halfway through the month is worse than one you never turned on.
To reduce credit usage without upgrading: narrow where the bot is enabled (skip low-value pages), and make sure your guardrails escalate early on topics it will never answer well.
The free trial
15 days, no credit card. The trial gives you the plan you are trialling, not a reduced version, so what you test is what you get.
Lifetime access
Instead of a subscription there is a one-off lifetime plan. It suits people who know they want the tool long-term and would rather stop thinking about a monthly line item. It is not a better deal for everyone — if you are not sure the product fits, the trial and a monthly plan are the cheaper way to find out.
Payment and invoices
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered into Stripe’s hosted checkout and are never stored by EasyChatDesk — see security. Invoices are available from your billing settings.
Cancelling
Cancel from billing at any time. Access continues until the end of the paid period. If you want your data removed after cancelling, that is a separate request — see GDPR and data requests.
